The Valencia Museum of Fine Arts, also known as the San Pío V Museum, is one , if not THE, most important museum in the Region of Valencia. It was founded in 1837 in a 17th-century Baroque building. It contains an important gallery and a large collection of drawings & sculptures,  The  collection of Gothic panels stands out because of its size & quality.

Most recently a collection of Valencia´s own, Joaquin Sorolla was added to the wide repertoire of the Museum.

Inaugurated in 1954, the National Museum of Ceramics and Decorative Arts Valencia, is located in the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas.

It holds an extensive collection of ceramics, with prehistoric, Roman, Greek and Arab items. There are also plenty of contemporary works, including some by Picasso.

 

 

FALLAS MUSEUM

Las Fallas – a festivity one has to witness at least once in a life time. From the 1st till the 19th of March Valencia welcomes spring in its own, particular way.

From the 15th to the 16th of March the “Fallas” monuments are erected only to be burned on the 19 th.

But each year, by popular vote, one figure is saved from the fire and housed in the Fallas Museum.

The oldest part of the exposition is a figure dating back to 1934

SCIENCE MUSEUM PRÍNCIPE FELIPE
